Tottenham Hotspur head coach Robert Vilahamn says that his side are fully-focused on this weekend’s fixture at Everton.

The Lilywhites’ trip to Merseyside brings their final game before next weekend’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Vilahamn revealed that his squad have spoken about the dangers of looking beyond this weekend’s game and that the response on the training ground has been very professional.

“We spoke about it this week, if you start looking too much towards next week, you lose sight of the here and now,” Vilahamn said. “If you start losing sight of that, you could lose your spot, you’re not competing as well in the squad or you don’t get chance to prepare yourself.

“Once again, they’ve trained very well this week and have been focused, so I’m not worried about that.”

Going on to discuss opponents Everton, Vilahamn praised opposite number Brian [Sørensen] for the work that he has done this season. Vilahamn believes that Everton have performed better than their results have suggested.

He said “When you look at Everton, they play well, they defend well and they press high. They don’t always get the result but they’re a very good team. Brian [Sørensen] has done great work with that squad because he has used a lot of players. They never give up and they also have young players who can come on and make an impact.

“It shows that the league is very competitive. When you look at Liverpool beating Chelsea the other day, that’s why you want to be in this league because there are so many games where you can’t predict who is going to win it.

“You need to be very sharp to win games and Everton have shown that.”

Tottenham Hotspur’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Everton kicks-off at 12pm on Saturday afternoon.
