Tottenham Hotspur forward Kit Graham has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury, the club have confirmed.

The 26-year-old Chatham-born forward sustained the injury during the first half of Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to West Ham United at The Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday. Graham went down with the injury on the half-hour mark and had to be replaced by Chioma Ubogagu.

The Spurs medical staff have now fully assessed Graham’s injury and the club have confirmed that the player has injured her ACL and will spend the remainder of the campaign on the sidelines.

News of Graham’s long term injury comes as a real blow for Spurs who have made an excellent start to the season. The North Londoners are challenging in the top half of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table while some fans could be forgiven for dreaming about European qualification. The form of Graham has been one of many factors behind Spurs’ early season success with the player having netted two goals in eight league games, including the winning goal against Birmingham City on opening day.

Spurs are next in action on 12 December when they travel to The Banks’s Stadium to take on Aston Villa in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
