Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are both interested in signing Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, according to reports in Italy.

Cambiaso had several successful loan spells during his time as a Genoa player as he worked to establish himself as a first-team regular for the Italian outfit.

Juventus were clearly impressed by the young defender, spending around €8.8million to sign him in July 2022.

The 23-year-old was instantly shipped on loan to Serie A rivals Bologna, for whom he played 34 times across all competitions last term.

Able to play as a left-back, right-back or wide midfielder, Cambiaso is attracting interest from clubs across Europe, though Juventus are reportedly not open to letting him leave on a permanent basis.

Cambiaso’s agent Giovanni Bia has backed up those claims.

“Juventus strongly wanted him, they put a lot of money on the table and they will certainly make their own assessments before depriving themselves of him and I think they will also ask for a lot of money,” Bia said.

“What is happening is there for all to see. Last week some teams approached and I think that something will happen here too, but Juventus will not deprive themselves of him easily.”

TuttoMercatoWeb reported over the weekend that Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are both interested in signing the Italian full-back.

Despite Juve’s stance, the report claims discussions ‘could develop’ amidst claims the player is valued at around €25million.

Another report from Tuttosport backed up claims from their fellow Italians that Spurs and Forest are keen.

Amidst interest from AC Milan and Bologna, this report says ‘many requests rained down’ on Cambiaso’s representatives over the past few days.

While Juve are reluctant to sell the player, they know they can make good money from the sale and will ask for ‘at least’ €20m.

Meanwhile, Spurs have received a boost in their attempts to offload Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The Premier League club initially signed Lo Celso from Real Betis on loan in August 2019 before making the move permanent a year later for €32m.

They also paid a €16m loan fee, so it is safe to say Spurs have not got their money’s worth from this signing.

Lo Celso spent the last 18 months on loan at Villarreal and Betis are now reportedly eager to bring him back on a permanent basis.

The Spanish side sold Sergio Canales for €10m plus €7m in add-ons, which can go a long way to buying Lo Celso from Spurs, who apparently want around €25m.
