Spurs forced to start from scratch over Bale return

Tottenham must start again if they want to keep Gareth Bale next season.

On-loan to June from Real Madrid, AS says Spurs hold no option or clause in extending Bale's stay.

As such, Bale will return to Madrid this summer with his future completely wide open.

The 31 year-old is wanted back at Tottenham by chairman Daniel Levy, though he'll leave the final decision to the next manager.

But claims that Spurs have first option on negotiating a return for the Wales captain are wide of the mark.
