Tottenham Hotspur head coach Robert Vilahamn says that his side are fully-focused on putting in a good performance in their Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-final tie against Leicester City this weekend.

The winner of the tie will become an Adobe Women’s FA Cup finalist for the very first time in their history.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Vilahamn said that reaching Wembley is an important step in his side’s development, however, all of the talk has been about performing well in the club’s semi-final tie.

“We started our team meeting by discussing the journey that we’ve been on and that it hopefully ends at Wembley but then, everything went back to normal,” Vilahamn said. “We discussed the game plan, how we are going to plan, perform and prepare. We then need to play the game and see if we are at Wembley or not.

“Of course, we need to be [at Wembley] given the way that we are going. Everybody is very keen to put in a good performance for the fans. If we put in a good performance, we have a good chance to win and reach Wembley.”

Spurs are unbeaten in their previous two meetings with Leicester City this season but Vilahamn is looking at the latest contest as a completely new challenge.

He said “Every game is new and lives it’s own life but we know that we are a good team that can beat Leicester. If we focus on putting in a really good performance then we are probably going to win the game. If they have a good day and we have a bad day, we can lose this game as well.

“We need to focus on having a good day and make sure we play the way that we want to do it. We know about who we are going to play but it’s still a new football game.”

Spurs have been given the opportunity to play the tie at their main stadium, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Vilahamn says that he was delighted with that decision and that he feels that it provides the team with the perfect stage.

He said “When the board told us we are going to play the game there, I was so happy. We want to be there and they want us to play more and more games there. It’s a perfect match this game because it’s a big game and we feel that we can perform even better at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”
