Tottenham smashed bitter rivals Arsenal 3-0 in their Premier League clash on Thursday evening.

Spurs needed a victory at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to go one point behind Arsenal in the race for fourth and keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive.

Antonio Conte’s side managed to get what they needed as they blew Arsenal away.

Spurs took the lead after 22 minutes. Son Heung-min was bundled over inside Arsenal’s box and Harry Kane converted the resulting penalty.

Arsenal were reduced to 10 men after Rob Holding was given two yellow cards in seven minutes, both for fouling Son.

Spurs made their man advantage count as Kane doubled their lead shortly after. Son then rounded out the scoring as he netted Spurs’ third almost immediately after the restart.

It was a truly disastrous evening for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta was absolutely fuming with the officials in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

Asked what he thought of the result, Arteta replied: “If I say what I think, I am suspended six months so I cannot say. I am allowed to give my interpretation of what happened in the game, but I don’t know how to lie and I don’t like lying. So I prefer not to say what I think.”

Asked if he was upset with some of the decisions against his side, he replied: “I cannot say what I think. I will be suspended.”

Pressed on the penalty decision and Holding’s second yellow card, Arteta said: “Get the referee to come in front of the camera and explain his decisions. They are his decisions. It’s a shame because such a beautiful game was destroyed today.”
