We asked Mark Jankowski to give us his match ratings and player comments after Spurs 1 Newcastle 2.

A match where Newcastle United went behind after only four minutes.

However, within two minutes an equaliser from Anthony Gordon.

Then Alexander Isak strikes again to win another match.

Now six NUFC victories in a row.

Match ratings

Dubravka – 8

Didn’t have much of a chance with the Spurs goal.

He commanded his box well and made the saves he had to when the time came.

Some confident distribution too, Dubravka is arguably in his best ever form.

Livramento – 9 (my man of match)

Tino turned in one of his best displays of the season in front of the new England boss.

He’ll have done his chances of a regular England place no harm at all with his performance.

I think Spurs got past him once all game and even then he recovered his position well.

Botman – 8

Sven was thrust straight back into the action as a result of Schar’s suspension.

Some understandable early rust was eventually shaken off and he delivered a classy performance which will give Eddie some selection headaches moving forward.

Burn – 8

The reason Howe will have headaches is because of the form of Dan Burn, who is in the conversation for our player of the season so far.

Big Dan Burn delivered another quality performance of strength and guile. I am so impressed with his form.

Hall – 8

I initially had the left-back down as a 7, but on reflection, he actually kept Brennan Johnson completely quiet.

Spurs only real threat came from Pedro Porro’s crossing down that side but I’m not sure Hall could have done much about many of those.

Bruno – 8

I can’t believe some people had the nerve to question Bruno’s captaincy a few weeks ago.

The Brazilian has been utterly brilliant for a while now and is revelling in his more advanced role.

Even when we sat back in the second half he was assured and pivotal in everything good we did.

Tonali – 8

The midfield maestro took over the game in the first half in a period of utter dominance.

He was quieter in the second, as were most of the team, but stepped up again during the final moments to ensure we saw the game out.

He did nearly score a fantastic goal midway through the half, only denied by an excellent block.

Joelinton – 8

Joelinton turned in a classic disruptive performance which I fully expect to see plenty of whinging about from the Spurs fans in the coming days.

Constantly bigger, stronger and just better than his counterparts in white.

Probably should have made more of a couple of chances he had but let’s be honest, that’s why he’s now the best box-to-box midfielder in the league.

Murphy – 9

A more understated performance from Murphy today but still very influential.

He put in some fantastic crosses from the right, one of which led to Isak’s winner.

Tireless as always in his work for the team, Murphy justified his nomination for Premier League player of the month.

Isak – 8

Isak’s on fire!

Another game, another goal, for the best striker in the league.

In general a quieter game for Isak but he still showed off his world class movement and control.

He cut an increasingly isolated figure in the second half but he’d done his job by that point.

Gordon – 9

His high energy was key in so many of our highlights.

Took his goal incredibly well and was unlucky not to add a second.

Hounded the Spurs backline at every opportunity and was unfortunate to be whistled up for soft fouls on more than one occasion.

SUBS

Barnes – 6

We spent most of our time on the back foot while he was on the pitch but he was always keen to get forward and nearly scored towards the end.

Willock – 6

Tried to stretch the Spurs backline whenever he could, I would have had him on earlier personally.

Longstaff – 5

Not his best cameo.

Brainless pass to no one in stoppage time that nearly cost us a goal and looked a bit lost in possession when he got on the ball.

Kelly – N/A

Not on long enough to judge.
