AC Milan are battling with Juventus and Atalanta for the signing of Hellas Verona defender Matteo Lovato, according to a report.

It is no secret by now that the Rossoneri are in the market for at least one new centre-back in January and they could even look to recruit another ahead of the 2021-22 season, given that Leo Duarte and Mateo Musacchio appear to be out of the plans.

According to Sportitalia (via CM), Milan are interested in signing Matteo Lovato from Hellas Verona, for whom the dream transition remains going from Serie C last season to playing in the Champions League next.

Juve and Atalanta are also interested in the 20-year-old defender, but the only obstacle is the fact that it would take €20million to land him, definitely too much for the latter while for the former and for Milan it seems a big fee for a player with not even half a season of top-flight experience.
