The Orlando Pride has found one more way to make the NWSL Champion even stronger. The club has acquired forward Prisca Chilufya, a Zambian international.

Supporters and other observers struggle to see how the Pride could improve. Or can it? In 2024 the club won the NWSL Shield and the league championship. Where else can they go?

Here is an answer from the club. They have acquired a striker in Prisca Chilufya who will join her teammates in reaching a new plateau of achievement in 2025.

The way Chilufya will help the squad reach new heights is through her speed and the fact that she’s a proven net hawk. That’s the observation of Haley Carter, Vice President of Soccer Operations and Sporting Director.

Carter added that the club had tracked Chilufya’s successful scoring record in international competition with Zambia and Liga MX Feminil. Her exceptional ability means she will immediately impact the squad’s attack this season.

At FC Juarez, she scored 14 goals in 48 appearances since 2023. This season she scored four goals. One of those came against Pumas only three minutes into the game and helped her earn Player of the Match.

She previously appeared in the Kazakh Women’s Championship with Tomris Turan and the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Bllk Kazygurt.

Internationally with Zambia, she played in the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and in qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics that year. She appeared in all three of Zambia's matches in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was an alternate in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She also recently played for Zambia in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Supporters should expect a great, long-term impact from Prisca Chilufya on Orlando Pride.
