Southampton got themselves on level terms away to Fulham thanks to another stunning James Ward-Prowse free-kick.

The dead-ball specialist was victim of a wicked deflection in the first-half, as Andreas Pereira’s effort cannoned off the England midfielder to give the hosts the lead.

Redemption came in the stereotypical fashion not 10 minutes after the restart as Ward-Prowse stepped up from well outside the penalty area to dispatch an expertly executed free-kick beyond the diving Bernd Leno.

His 15th free-kick in the Premier League means that the 28-year-old now trails only, arguably, the greatest dead ball specialist in English history, David Beckham (18)
