SC Heerenveen are to strengthen their ranks with the signing of Vaclav Sejk, according to Mike Verweij for De Telegraaf. The 23-year-old striker will be loaned from Sparta Prague for one season, after which he can be signed permanently for €1.5 million.
Sejk is expected to fly to the Netherlands on Thursday evening and undergo a medical on Friday. If those tests don’t reveal any problems, the Czech player will become Heerenveen’s latest acquisition.
Sejk is no stranger to the Netherlands. The right-footed finisher spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Roda JC, where he scored eight goals in 17 matches.
The striker has also played on loan at Teplice, Jablonec, Zaglebie Lubin, and Famalicão in recent years. Sejk came through the Sparta Prague youth academy, but never properly made it into the first team. He has 17 senior appearances for the Czech club.
So far, Heerenveen have signed Dylan Vente, Maxence Rivera, Nikolai Hopland, Vasilios Zagaritis, Joris van Overeem, Maas Willemsen, Nolhan Courtens, and Amourricho van Axel Dongen.
This has so far seen the departure of Ion Nicolaescu, Danilo Al-Saed, Amara Condé, Dimitris Rallis, Mats Köhlert, Mateja Milovanovic, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Mickey van der Hart, Ché Nunnely, Hussein Ali and Jan Bekkema.
