The Spanish Super Cup is scheduled to kick off on January 10, 2024. The tournament will be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the final scheduled for January 14 at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium in the city.
The RFEF has confirmed the line-up for the semi-finals. Real Madrid will face rivals Atlético Madrid in the first semi-final, while Barcelona will take on Osasuna in the other semi-final on January 11.
Barcelona enter the 2024 Super Cup as the defending champions. Osasuna have earned their place in the last four by finishing as runners-up in the Copa del Rey last season, narrowly missing out on the trophy against Real Madrid.
Atlético secured their place in the tournament by finishing third in La Liga during the 2022-23 season.
In the previous Super Cup, the four teams that qualified for the competition were Real Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and Real Betis. Both semi-finals were closely contested and had to be decided by penalty shootouts to determine the finalists. Ultimately, it was Barcelona and Real Madrid who faced off in the final.
