Real Madrid have made their displeasure over the refereeing standards in La Liga very clear to the league administration through the videos posted on Real Madrid TV over the past few months.
The situation, however, peaked last month when Los Blancos filed an official complaint to the RFEF after their defeat to Espanyol.
The point was clear – that their opponents should have seen a red card on the night and that the referees’ error cost them three crucial points in the title race.
Earlier today, the RFEF conducted a meeting between the managers of the first and second-division teams, La Liga president Javier Tebas, and the president of the Technical Committee of Referees.
Real Madrid, however, did not attend the proceedings after their recent feud with the referees, and the events during the discussions were primarily directed against Los Blancos.
As relayed by Jorge C Picon, the parties involved in the meeting unanimously agreed that Real Madrid must be sanctioned for putting pressure on referees with their actions.

It was a clear statement from all parties involved that the league leaders are putting immense pressure on referees by over-exaggerating their errors that they are demanding special treatment.
The report further adds that many coaches present even criticized the RFEF for not taking a more solid stance against Real Madrid’s accusations and for the constant playing of referees’ errors on their official media channel.
It remains to be seen if Florentino Perez and Co. indeed receive any sanction for their formal complaint.
Nevertheless, the meeting did see the topic of refereeing standards addressed and one hopes there will be more transparency going forward for that is all Real Madrid were demanding in the first place.
