Aymeric Laporte, currently a key player for Al-Nassr, has reportedly shown interest in joining Real Madrid.
According to Fichajes, the defender made gestures aimed at encouraging Madrid to consider signing him. Despite his efforts, however, the Spanish club has not opened any talks with Laporte or his current team.
It must be noted that Laporte’s name has been widely linked with the club, with rumours suggesting he is eager to wear the iconic white shirt.
Reports indicate that while Real Madrid’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is open to the idea of bringing the 30-year-old defender to Madrid, the club’s board, led by president Florentino Perez, has not pursued the move.
There are several reasons for this, with Perez not convinced about the benefits of signing a player currently playing in Saudi Arabia, especially one with a high salary.

Furthermore, the club’s sporting plans are focused on strengthening the team without disrupting its current setup.
With Eder Militao likely to return from injury in the summer and Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba having contracts until 2026, he feels Madrid’s defensive options are already strong.
Laporte’s desire to return to Europe is clear, and he has reportedly expressed his willingness to bolster Madrid’s defence, which has had some inconsistencies recently.
However, the club remains firm in its transfer approach, sticking to the long-term plans that involve adapting players like Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy to different roles if needed.
At this point, it seems unlikely that Laporte’s wish to join Madrid will come true. The club’s sporting management is sticking to its strategy and is not planning on pursuing any significant signings for the centre of defence during the winter transfer window.
Real Madrid’s focus continues to be on the options they already have, with no immediate need for further reinforcements in the defensive area.
