The semi-finals at Euro 2024 kick off with an absolute cracker on Tuesday evening when Spain take on France.

Spain vs France Euro 2024 Preview: Odds And Best Bets

Both nations are very familiar with reaching this stage of a major football championship. France were World Cup finalists in 2022 and, of course, winners in 2018, but this is their best European Championship showing since reaching the 2016 final. Spain reached this stage in 2021, having won the title in 2008 and 2012 as well.

Spain vs France Latest Odds

Spain have probably been the most impressive team of the tournament so far. They managed to dump out the hosts in the last round and are now the favourites to lift the trophy as a result of that. The head-to-head wth France is slightly in Spain’s favour, but there is no doubt that this should be a tight match.

France have somehow managed to reach this stage of the tournament scoring only three goals, two own goals and one penalty. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they have to improve their attacking output to progress because they have been so tight defensively, and any win counts at this stage of the tournament.

What are the best bets for Spain vs France?

Fabian Ruiz & Aurelien Tchouameni over 1.5 shots each – 10/3 with Bet365

Ruiz has been the man getting in and around the box from the Spanish midfield and he could be the one that France forget about. Ruiz has two goals in the tournament already and he’s amassed 13 shots along the way. Tchouameni has hit at least two shots in every match so far for France, 11 shots in four matches and he is happy to have a go from outside the box.

Rodri to be booked – 13/5 with Bet365

Rodri has been booked in three of Spain’s matches so far, but he knows that he can afford another one here and still not be banned for the final. UEFA rules for the tournament mean that his yellow card from the last match has been expunged and unless he gets himself sent off here, he will be fine to get another yellow in this match without mising any football.

Key players expected to impact the Spain vs France match

Dani Olmo

The RB Leipzig man has been exceptional as a substitute in the last couple of matches for Spain, and the fact that it was he who replaced Pedri in the quarter-final means that he is the most likely to repace him in the starting XI here now that it has been confirmed that the Barcelona midfielder is out for the remainder of the tournament. Olmo brings excellent technical ability to the team, but great effort and a more deadly end product as well. He got on the scoresheet vs Georgia and looked dangerous against Germany too.

William Saliba

Looking to prevent the impact of Olmo and Alvaro Morata in particular, it has been an excellent tournament so far for Arsenal and France’s central defender. France have conceded only once, a penalty to Poland, and they have the lowest xG against numbers in the tournament of those left in.  Saliba was rumoured to not even be in Didier Deschamps’ preferred centre back pairing, so he hs done exceptionally well to win and retain his place.
