Busquets tested positive for coronavirus on 6 June and is yet to return a negative test, the report claims. The midfielder must continue to isolate and is currently training alone.

In his absence, Spain lined up with Manchester City’s Rodri in front of the defence but there was still no place in the side for Liverpool midfielder Thiago.

Busquets now faces a race against time to be available for the final group game against Slovakia next Wednesday.
