Spain midfielder Fabian has likened Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal to Neymar, noting their similar abilities in driving the ball forward.

Yamal, just 16 years old, has been impressing fans with his exciting performances at the ongoing Euros. While he has not scored yet, he has assisted twice in four games.

Yamal’s displays have garnered praise from fellow footballers, including Jamal Musiala, who described watching him as really enjoyable. UEFA Champions League winner Toni Kroos has also labelled Yamal as one of the most dangerous players.

Joining the chorus of admirers is PSG and Spain midfielder Fabian, who himself is having a standout Euro with two goals and two assists in three matches.

Fabian highlighted that while there are some differences in Yamal and Neymar’s profiles, their playing styles share many similarities.

“I think Lamine and Neymar are similar when it comes to driving the ball faster, although I think Lamine is more of a winger and Neymar liked to get in between and link,” said the midfielder in an interview with SPORT.

“But they have many things in common because Lamine is doing things at the age of 16 that Neymar was doing at that age,” he added.

A historic Euro for Lamine Yamal

The Barcelona wonderkid has become a sensation at the ongoing European Championship, leaving fans and experts in awe of his talent.

Interestingly, Yamal, who he is the youngest player ever to feature in the Euros, is currently the frontrunner to succeed Jude Bellingham for the Golden Boy award. What’s more? His market valuation has soared to a whopping €90 million.

Fabian’s comparison underscores the emerging talent of Yamal and the excitement he brings to the football world, despite his young age and limited international experience.

His performances at the Euros continue to captivate audiences and draw favourable comparisons to established stars like Neymar.
