The Spanish Football Federation [RFEF] has confirmed that head coach Luis de la Fuente has penned a contract extension.
De La Fuente was a surprise choice to take over the national team job back in 2022 following La Roja’s disastrous World Cup campaign.
The 62-year-old was promoted from under-23 boss to replace Luis Enrique and has since guided his country to Euro 2024 where they will go in as one of the favourites.
And to promote a sense of stability going into the tournament this summer, De la Fuente has been handed a new deal that stretches to 2026.
A statement via RFEF on Thursday confirmed that De la Fuente had put pen to paper on a deal that will last until after the World Cup in North America and Mexico in two years’ time.
