England are already assured of their place at next summer’s finals, with this month’s games providing Southgate with a chance to experiment with his squad.

Newcastle forward Callum Wilson has been recalled to the squad, while Ollie Watkins and Jarrod Bowen retain their places from October after impressive starts to the season at Aston Villa and West Ham respectively.

There’s no room for Chelsea duo Reece James and Raheem Sterling however, while in-form Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon is not included despite talk of a maiden selection.
