Southampton’s Tino Livramento claimed failing to beat Burnley on Saturday overshadowed the elation of scoring his first senior goal.

The 18-year-old, who joined from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, had hit the post just moments before he met Nathan Redmond’s corner to head home and bring the sides level at St Mary’s.

Armando Broja put the Saints ahead early in the second half, but Burnley earned a share of the points in a 2-2 draw through Maxwel Cornet’s 25-yard effort.

“It’s one of the best feelings I have had so far. It would have been nice to top it off with three points, but yeah I’m happy to help the team,” Livramento told the Southern Daily Echo.

“It’s a bit flat (the dressing room), maybe we should have won the game.

“I feel like Burnley will feel like they should have won it as well so maybe a point is a fair result.”
