According to Football Insider, Southampton have made a key move in order to bring in impressive Liverpool starlet Harry Wilson in the summer window.
The 23-year-old Wales international is coming off a trio of successful loan spells at Bournemouth, Derby County, and Hull City and will be keen to be a regular first-team player somewhere as the pathway to the Reds first-team is blocked by a plethora of top talent.
In 31 Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season, Wilson bagged seven goals in his first attempt to conquer England’s top flight.
Southampton and Leeds are both confident they have what it takes to evolve Wilson into a bonafide Premier League star, though Liverpool have demanded a fee in excess of £30m for the player in the past.
It’s believed Leeds are considering a bid in the region of £15m for Wilson. It’s unclear how much the Saints are willing to offer, but it’s rumoured that a bid of around £20m would be enough to secure his services.
