Southampton are reportedly on the verge of signing Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

The 22-year-old has been on City’s books since the age of 15 and had been seen as one of the brightest prospects at the Etihad.

The youngster spent all of last term on loan at Norwich where he started all 46 of their games in the Championship.

According to the Manchester Evening News however, Pep Guardiola has opted to sell Gunn with his opportunities for first team minutes likely to be extremely low next season.

A number of Premier League clubs were thought to be interested in his services, but it’s the Saints who have landing the keeper for a fee in the region of €15m

There’s no news yet as to whether the Citizens will insert a buy-back clause into the deal, but it does seem likely considering that the shot-stopper is tipped to be a future England international.
