Southampton now 'moving on' from £30m star at St Mary's
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at St Mary’s, but it does not look like he will be returning despite Ralph Hasenhuttl previously stating that he wanted to keep him at the club.
What is the latest news involving Broja?
As per Sky Sports, West Ham are set to make a £30m bid for Broja as David Moyes looks to add another centre-forward to his squad.
The east London outfit appear to be leading the race for the Albanian, but prior, Hasenhuttl had made it clear that he was keen for him to remain on the south coast.
“At this moment it is not easy to negotiate with Chelsea. There is no question, and it is not surprising that I want him to stay here another year,” the Saints boss said back in April. “I know this would be good for him.”
During his time at St Mary’s, Broja made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side, scoring nine goals.

What has Barclay said about Broja and Southampton?
Barclay has told GIVEMESPORT that his understanding of the situation is Southampton will not bid for Broja in this transfer window and are planning to move on to other striker targets.
When asked what are the chances of the Saints bringing the Albania international back to the club, The Sun journalist said: “Very slim. I’m led to believe they won’t be bidding for him and they’re moving on to other targets in the striker position.
“Never say never, but I think it would take an interest from Broja to come back to make that happen. I think it’s more likely that he either stays at Chelsea and fights for a place there or moves on somewhere else.”
Do Southampton need to replace Broja?
Yes, the Saints could definitely do with adding another No.9 to their squad to replace Broja for the 2022/23 season.
In an ideal world, Broja would just simply return to St Mary’s, but with his valuation having seemingly hit the £30m mark, it is obviously a hard deal for a club like Southampton to do.
