Southampton midfielder Romeu season now over

Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken ankle.

Romeu broke down during Tuesday's 3-0 defeat to Leeds United.

Now the Saints have been dealt a hammer blow with the news he needs surgery to fix the problem.

Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “He has a fracture on his ankle.

“It will take a minimum of three months until he is back."
