Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu insists there's positives to find from their defeat to Wolves.

Strikes either side of the break from Raúl Jiménez and Conor Coady put the hosts in the driving seat, before a sensational James Ward-Prowse free-kick setup a tense final 10 minutes.

Romain Perraud then hit the bar for Saints before Adama Traoré sealed victory for Bruno Lage's side in stoppage time.

Despite the scoreline, Romeu feels Southampton's play was good enough to walk away from Molineux with at least a share of the spoils.

“We conceded too many goals, three goals is way too difficult [to comeback from]," conceded the Spaniard. “Although I know one was a penalty, one was a free-kick and the other one is when we're trying to get back in the game and have less people back.

“It was an amazing free-kick from Prowsey, again, which gets us back into the game and we pushed. We had a clear chance from Romain and a couple of crosses that were close, but the ball didn't go into the net and it wasn't enough to get a point today.

“What happened in the game I was quite upset we lost and quite angry, but looking back now I think it was a good performance.

“There was nothing that comes out and we should point out that we didn't do - the way we pressed, the way we attacked. We know it's difficult against this team, but we managed to create probably more chances than they did. Overall, way we approached the game and over the 90 minutes was good."
