Southampton FC Women have signed New Zealand international striker Katie Rood from Lewes FC.
Rood’s former clubs include Juventus, Lincoln Ladies and Bristol City, before a loan move to Lewes turned permanent in 2019.
“I’m really excited about it,” the 28-year-old told southamptonfc.com upon arriving at the Saints. “ I think it’s an ambitious club. The resources and the facilities here are amazing.
“Even with the staff, they’re experienced and the quality, I think it shows the club are trying to make a statement. It really breeds a professional environment that us players thrive off.
“I’m excited to get out on the pitch with them and see what we can do.”
