Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says they deserved their 1-0 win at Burnley.
Danny Ings was the match-winner, supplied by Ché Adams's pull-back following a superb through ball by Kyle Walker-Peters, ending a run of three successive defeats in all competitions.
"It's difficult to play here," said Hasenhuttl. "I think we had a very good performance tonight, especially against the ball and out of possession.
"We defended a lot but deserved to win. We still can do it better; the pressure was getting up and up in the second half.
"Yes, the goal was absolutely fantastic play. The deep run from Che was fantastic and the pass back in the area, fantastic goal from us.
"The work against the ball from the strikers was amazing and that was absolutely needed today.
"This time we really tried to play more, keep the ball on the ground and stay protecting our goal. I think I only saw one chance for Burnley.
"We did it much better than the last time we were here, we couldn't concede late because we deserved to get the three points today."
