Mari was in good form at the start of his career at the Emirates, and his ability to play from the back made him one of Arteta’s most trusted men.

However, the former Manchester City man has since fallen down the pecking order, and he is a long way from returning to the starting XI.

Arsenal will keep strengthening their squad, and the best option for him would be to leave the club.

However, the Gunners might have to be generous enough to pay some of his wages before he can move to Flamengo.

Mari is still a useful squad member for now, and we can play him in early rounds of cup competitions.
