Wolves have reached a full agreement with Colombian defender Yerson Mosquera and he is set to become Bruno Lage’s first signing, Football Insider understands.
The Atletico Nacional centre-back, 20, is heading to Molineux in a move viewed as a major coup.
A club source has told Football Insider that Wolves have had a £4.5million bid accepted and Mosquera has agreed a long-term contract.
The deal is set to be finalised imminently as the young defender has cleared the key hurdle of being granted a work permit.
The plan is for Mosquera to slot straight into the first-team squad and to be phased into the team next season.
Mosquera has made 20 appearances for Atletico Nacional in 2021.
Impressively, the young defender has only been on the losing side on three occasions.
His side sit top of Liga Dimayor though three other clubs are within touching distance.
He will join Conor Coady, Willy Boly, Romain Saiss and Max Kilman as one of Lage’s first team centre backs.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (14 June) Everton are working to follow up the potential appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo with the additions of Coady and Pedro Neto.
However, this site revealed on Thursday that Rafael Benitez is set to be announced as the new Everton boss.
Wolves announced Lage as their new manager on 9th June after parting ways with Nuno at the end of the season.
The former Swansea assistant left Benfica in June 2020 after a poor run of results.
Wolves finished 13th in the Premier League last season after back to back seventh-placed finishes.
Nuno has been close to taking the Crystal Palace and Everton job in recent weeks.
