Sheffield Wednesday are said to still hold an interest in signing Cheltenham Town’s Will Boyle, with Football League World understanding that Huddersfield Town and Peterborough United are also keeping tabs on the situation.
Boyle, 26, is out of contract at Cheltenham in the summer and that’s brought a particular interest in the defender from across the EFL.
Wednesday’s interest in Boyle is nothing new, with a long-term admiration in the Cheltenham ace at Hillsborough.
Football League World understand that Wednesday are continuing to chase a potential deal for Boyle, though they do have Championship competition.
Huddersfield gave Boyle his first steps into senior football after progressing through the ranks at the John Smith’s Stadium, with sources explaining that the Terriers have a lingering interest in linking back up with Boyle, who left the club permanently in 2017.
There’s also interest from Peterborough, who are battling to retain their Championship status for a second season.
