Real Madrid’s first-choice defensive midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni, has struggled to impress in his natural position in the ongoing season.
Furthermore, the Frenchman has been heavily used as a centre-back by manager Carlo Ancelotti while there have also been murmurs of a possible summer exit for the former AS Monaco man.
As such, Real Madrid are said to be on the lookout for a new pivot midfielder in the summer, giving ways to links with two Spanish behemoths in Rodri (Manchester City) and Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad).
However, it appears that Los Blancos have begun to take a keen interest in one of La Liga’s emerging young talents.
Indeed, as per sources, Dario Essugo, a 19-year-old midfielder currently on loan at Las Palmas from Sporting CP, has caught the attention of Real Madrid.
The reigning champions of Spain and Europe see the young Portuguese starlet as a promising addition to their midfield for the future.

Essugo, who has already had the chance to showcase his abilities in Spain’s top division, is considered one of the brightest talents of his generation.
Despite his age, his maturity, ability to distribute the ball, vision, and tactical awareness have made him one of the breakout stars of La Liga this season.
Currently, the midfielder has featured 11 times in La Liga for his loan club Las Palmas, gaining valuable minutes and experience.
And, it appears that Essugo’s performance have put him on the radars of Real Madrid. The 19-year-old’s potential makes him a promising investment for the future, considering his talent and projection.
Real Madrid have repeatedly shown their ability to identify young prospects with potential and sign them. And with Essugo, they appear to have found another rising star.
As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how the youngster develops at Las Palmas and whether there is a serious possibility of the 19-year-old moving to Real Madrid.
