Peterborough United and Barnsley are amongst the clubs scouting Notts County ace Macaulay Langstaff, sources have revealed to Football League World.

It’s been a really impressive start to the season for Langstaff at Notts, who sit top of the National League table and a point clear of Wrexham after 12 fixtures.

Langstaff has been the driving force behind that impressive start, scoring 15 goals in 12 appearances. That included a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Dagenham and Redbridge in September, as well as five goals in his last three appearances during wins over York City, Altrincham and, most recently, Wrexham.

It’s Football League World’s understanding that the form of the 25-year-old has caught admiring glances from the EFL.

A well placed source has revealed that Peterborough and Barnsley, who are both plying their trade in League One, are two clubs that have been scouting the former Gateshead forward.

There’s other interest from across the EFL, including some lower-end Championship clubs, although their identity has not been revealed at this moment in time.

Notts face Woking on Saturday as Luke Williams’ side look to retain their place at the top of the National League.
