Motherwell are looking into the possibility of securing a move for Birmingham City winger Jonathan Leko, Football League World understands.

The 23-year-old has been limited to just 88 minutes of Championship football this season as the winger has failed to make the matchday squad on several occasions.

Sitting ninth in the Scottish Premiership as things stand, Motherwell will be hoping for a productive January transfer window in order to trouble the top half of the division.

Leko’s contract at St Andrew’s expires in the summer and it is unknown at this stage what the immediate plan looks like for the young winger.

A tricky, athletic wide player who displayed very exciting signs during the early stages of his career, it will be interesting to see if further interest arises ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.
