Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Brereton is attracting interest from Spanish clubs on the back of his international appearances for Chile, Football League World has been told exclusively.

The Rovers attacker has generated a few headlines in recent weeks after receiving a call-up to the Chilean national team, with him representing the South American nation this summer and becoming a bit of a cult hero of theirs as well in the process, taking the name Ben Brereton Diaz.

That foray into international football, though, has piqued the interest of Spanish clubs with Football League World able to reveal exclusively that four La Liga sides are taking a closer look at him, including Sevilla.

Brereton’s situation at Blackburn, as things stand, sees him having 12 months left on his current contract at Ewood Park and he has held talks with the club over signing a new deal.

However, this interest from Spain could now provide a new dynamic in the scenario and we’ll have to see what Brereton decides to do, should an offer from La Liga be forthcoming.

As things stand, the Spanish quartet are yet to make an official bid for the attacker but, clearly, his Chilean trip has caught the eye further afield than just in this country.
