The Bundesliga giants are closely monitoring a host of top young talent at England’s leading clubs and the latest on their radar is the centre-forward, who only turned 17 in February.

A Germany source told Football Insider the club are to send scouts to regularly watch Parrott in youth-team games as they compile a dossier on him ahead of a potential move.

Parrott is attracting attention from the elite of Germany, Spain and Italy after scoring prolifically for Tottenham’s youth teams and taking that form into international level.

The rising star further enhanced his reputation with three goals in his first two matches for Republic of Ireland Under-21s during the recent international break.

Parrott, who has also scored twice in his only Spurs Under-23s game this season, regularly trains with the senior squad and is set to be fast-tracked into Mauricio Pochettino’s first team later this month.

The Dublin-born Republic of Ireland youth international joined the north Londoners in the summer of 2017 after being a prolific goalscorer in his homeland.

Spurs will be mindful that two of their most highly rated academy products quit the club last year, with winger Keanan Bennetts joining Borussia Mochengladbach and striker Reo Griffiths signing for Lyon.

They also sold 20-year-old winger Marcus Edwards last week to Portugese club Vitoria.
