Arsenal will be breathing a big sigh of relief with Kieran Tierney’s injury not thought to be too serious.
According to the Athletic, the Scot could even feature against Newcastle on Monday.
Tierney missed Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Thursday and the Gunners struggled to get going without the energetic left-back.
“We don’t know,” Mikel Arteta said when asked how long Tierney would be out after the match.
“We will probably know more tomorrow after testing him and how long he is going to be out for.”
The left-back was left out as a precaution after feeling tightness in his calf.
However, it seems he may have just been suffering the effects of fatigue after playing every game of a busy Christmas period and then 120 minutes against Newcastle in the FA Cup last weekend.
His return would be a huge boost, with Arsenal currently lacking a natural backup at left-back after allowing Sead Kolasinac to join Schalke on loan.
