Heung-Min Son has issued a rallying call ahead of tonight's Champions League round of 16 second leg encounter against AC Milan.

With Champions League knockout nights back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we head into this last-16 decider knowing only a win will be enough to turnaround the 1-0 first leg deficit and help us progress to the quarter-final stage.

Sonny believes the squad are up for the task at hand and have been given a positive lift with our head coach Antonio Conte returning to the dugout.

“It is the most important game of the season,” he said. “It’s a must-win game, everyone’s preparing well mentally and physically and with Antonio back it’s given us a huge boost.

“We’re looking forward to the game and hopefully we can make things happen to turn the tie around under the lights in our stadium.”

With a Club record 38 appearances in the Champions League, Sonny has delivered big moments for us in the competition’s knockout stages before with crucial goals against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City on our way to the 2019 final.

Our number seven has shown he relishes the biggest stage and, more importantly, understands what it means to players and fans alike to play in these European nights.

“Playing on the big stage is what you want as a footballer and what you always dream about growing up,” added the South Korea international. “I’m always ready, I try to be calm in the biggest games and I’m working hard to perform at a good level. But without the team and my team-mates I couldn’t make this happen.

Press conference: Heung-Min Son ahead of Milan clash

“We understand what this means for the Club. We have to stick together on the pitch and the same for everyone off the pitch in the stadium as well. It's a great opportunity to play at home; in tough moments, we need the fans.

“As players we all feel very proud to play for this Club and make our fans happy. Tomorrow is a tough game, but we need the fans to bring good energy and positive vibes to cheer us on and we will give absolutely everything to turn this around and make them proud.”
