Jessey Sneijder signed his first professional contract with FC Utrecht on Monday. The 18-year-old son of record international Wesley Sneijder has agreed to a deal that runs until the summer of 2028. The contract also includes an option for an additional year.
The young Sneijder has played in FC Utrecht’s youth academy for the past few years and will be promoted to Jong FC Utrecht, who play in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, for next season. The youngster (an attacking midfielder like his father) will be playing professionally now that he has put pen to paper on his first professional contract.
“This is a dream come true,” Jessey Sneijder said on Utrecht’s website. “Since joining the FC Utrecht academy, I’ve worked hard to reach this moment. Signing my first professional contract feels like a reward, but also the start of a new step. I want to continue developing and, first and foremost, play as many minutes as possible with Jong FC Utrecht next season.”
