Son Heung-min left the pitch in tears after playing his last game for Tottenham Hotspur which ended 1-1 with Newcastle United.

Son started the game in Seoul which at times became more than just a 'friendly' game. Brennan Johnson opened the scoring in the first five minutes after Newcastle were caught playing out from the back.

Harvey Barnes equalised in the 38th minute following a superb shot that bounced in at the near post.

In a classic of the 'Brazil v Argentina' genre of confrontations Cristián Romero kicked out at Bruno Guimarães who responded with his hands on the defender's neck however both players avoided punishment.

As expected, the intensity of the match decreased in the second half, during which the coaches made substitutions from the bench.

However, at the 65th minute, the highlight of the match occurred as Son Heung-min left the field to be replaced by Mohammed Kudus. It marked the farewell of a historic player at Tottenham, bidding goodbye to the English club.

The final score in Seoul was 1-1, in a South Korean city that turned out in large numbers to watch Son's last game in a Spurs shirt, where he played from 2015 to 2025, making over 450 appearances (173 goals).
