Son Heung-min became the fifth-highest goal scorer in Spurs history by scoring the winner against Luton Town on Saturday.

Tottenham went behind just two minutes into the encounter on their own patch, but an Issa Kabore own goal just after the interval levelled matters.

The Korean forward scored the decisive goal with just two minutes of normal time remaining, which also happened to be his 160th since he joined the club in 2015.

“Playing for one club for almost ten years is an incredible feeling and a big honour for me,” Son told Premier League Productions after the final whistle.

“I didn’t even realise how many goals I’d scored, I want to thank everyone who played with me and coached me for their big effort.

“I want to put in as much as I can for the team, football is a team sport and the individual comes afterwards. In the last nine games I want to give everything for the team.”

Son was unfortunate not to score more on the day, with one of his six chances hitting both posts without going over the line.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is impressed by his captain’s consistent level of performance and the standards he sets for the rest of the team.

“He keeps delivering,” the Australian told BBC Match of the Day. “He had a couple of good chances, was a bit unlucky with a couple. He’s been a great player for this club for a long time and long may he continue.

“He’s everything you see. He’s really committed, has really high standards and gives everything he has every minute he’s out there. He’s a credit to himself and this club.”
