Manchester United fans unhappy with the club’s European Super League plans

Manchester United fans were in for a rude awakening when it was revealed on Sunday that the club has signed on for the European Super League.

The Red Devils join the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in committing to the competition. This has led to widespread condemnation from both UEFA and FA.

The likes of Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and even Sir Alex Ferguson have expressed their distaste at the club’s actions. The decision does little to promote fair play and rakes in the money for the select few at the top of the footballing pyramid.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust also came out against the proposals and deemed them unacceptable and shocking.

Fans too have expressed their distaste, with many of them even threatening to walk away from supporting the club they have loved. Whether the Glazers will take cognizance of the mood remains to be seen.
