At the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, centre-back Dejan Lovren departed Liverpool for Zenit Saint Petersburg on a free transfer.
The move has proven to be a good one for Lovren. The Croatia international recently lifted the Russian Premier League title.
Some Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to congratulate Lovren on winning the league title.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
We are happy for Lovren. He was a fine servant for the Reds, so we wish him nothing but the best.
Liverpool signed Lovren from Southampton for a transfer fee of €25.30 million back in the summer of 2014.
Lovren went on to make 185 appearances for Liverpool. Lovren won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Premier League title with the Reds.
Despite that being the case, we had no issue with Lovren departing Liverpool at the end of last season.
The Croatia international only made 15 appearances for the Reds last season. The aforementioned figure highlights that he was done at Liverpool.
