Manchester United ace Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be available to face Atalanta in the UCL after his ban was reduced to one game

According to The Sun, Manchester United will have Aaron Wan-Bissaka available for selection against Atalanta in the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash after UEFA reduced his ban to one game.

The 21-year-old has been a mainstay in the United defence since he made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2019. However, in the club’s first Champions League clash this season against B.S.C Young Boys, the youngster had a moment of rash indiscipline.

Wan Bissaka lunged into a challenge and caught Christopher Martins Pereira, who was crying out for a medic after the tackle. The Englishman’s tackle was deemed ‘rough play’, and he was handed a two-game ban by UEFA on top of the red card he received against the Swiss club.

The full-back has already served one game of the suspension as he missed the Villarreal clash, a game where United were opened up defensively.

However, in a huge boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United’s appeal to UEFA has been heard, and the youngster is now available to face Atalanta in the club’s upcoming clash.

The Old Trafford outfit’s injury troubles make the right-back’s return even more prominent. Harry Maguire is struggling to return from his injury, while Raphael Varane also suffered a knock during international duty with France.

In fact, the Red Devils also play Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Man City in the next 20 days, and Solskjaer will need his best players to be fit and available for selection.

United are already 3rd in their UCL group and will be hoping to win both games against the Italian outfit in the upcoming weeks before facing the likes of Villarreal and B.S.C Young Boys again.
