As reported by Le10Sport, highly-regarded teenage winger Alan Virginius, despite a variety of suitors from across the continent this summer, has had a change of heart over his destination.

Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen were set to fight it out over the 19-year-old French youth international after Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt dropped out of the race to sign the player with Anderlecht, who made a €7m bid, and Club Brugge also previously interested.

However, the player has decided that he would now prefer to target a move inside France to Ligue 1 with both Lille and OGC Nice interested. Lille have enquired over a transfer with Ligue 2 promotion chasers Sochaux but LOSC are yet to make a concrete offer.

In 31 appearances for Sochaux in Ligue 2 last season, 24 of which were from the bench, the forward scored 5 times while he has just one year left on his contract, making a sale of some sort likely this summer.
