They are hit with an insightful, hard-hitting question and in response they throw out a safe but mundane answer that has come straight out of media-training 101.

Well, Newcastle United’s Florian Lejeune has changed the game on that front.

His responses to questions faced in ‘The Toon Tombola’ – a feature in the official Newcastle matchday programme – are eye-opening, deep and also just really, really weird.

The 28-year-old has left us with more questions than answers through his responses.

But if we had more of these types of responses post-match and less of the ‘the most important thing is the three points’ responses, the world would be a better place.
