Charles De Ketelaere is continuing his adaptation to AC Milan’s tactical schemes, and Stefano Pioli could give him a new role in the coming games.
Against Sampdoria he thought that he had his first goal of the season but it was disallowed after a review that determined Olivier Giroud to be offside in the build-up. SempreMilan.it suggest that he could find himself playing closer to goal soon.
Ante Rebic is struggling with back problems, Divock Origi missed the game due to a muscle problem, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not return before 2023. In Genoa, Stefano Pioli had already studied a two-striker formation and it is not difficult to hypothesise this type of solution also in the future, perhaps starting from the match against Napoli.
Against Dinamo Zagreb, Leao will start in the starting position, and then rest in the next match at San Siro against Napoli due to his suspension. At that point Origi could join Giroud, or Pioli could advance De Ketelaere to the position of second striker.
This type of choice would not be so revolutionary, because he would maintain the same tactical set-up, however letting the Belgian slip from the frontline to the attack. It is also a role CDK performed extensively at Club Brugge.
