AC Milan Women are working on a contract renewal for Emelyne Laurent but as we have exclusively learned, a free transfer in the summer cannot be ruled out.
Laurent arrived at Milan in the summer of 2023 and has since been a relatively important player in the team, playing on the right-hand side of the attack. However, this season has been a lot of start-and-stop due to several injuries, resulting in just ten league games played.
According to our correspondent Luca Maninetti, Milan are working on a renewal for Laurent as the current contract will expire in June. So far, however, the parties haven’t found common ground and it remains to be seen if a renewal is even possible.
For now, therefore, a departure in the summer cannot be ruled out even if contacts between Laurent’s agent and Milan will continue in the coming weeks/months. Of course, losing a player for free is never ideal but it’s not like the right-winger is coming off an outstanding season either.
Milan Women managed to reach the champion play-off, finishing in 5th place in the first phase, but the European positions are still very difficult to reach. In fact, it would take a remarkable end to the season to reach top three.
