Udinese center-back Jaka Bijol insists Udinese could’ve taken points in their 3-2 home loss against Inter Milan last Saturday.

During an interview with TV12, as reported by FCInterNews, the Slovenia international discussed the enthralling contest at the Bluenergy Stadium.

Davide Frattesi scored a first-minute opener to put Inter in front before Christian Kabasele leveled the score late in the first half.

However, Udinese entered the break on the back foot as Lautaro Martinez restored Inter’s lead on the stroke of halftime.

It took the Nerazzurri captain only two minutes into the second half to double his tally with an instinctive finish from the edge of the box.

Lorenzo Lucca showed up when it looked like Inter would stroll to their first away win this season.

The towering striker made it 3-2 in the 83rd minute, but Simone Inzaghi’s charges kept Udinese at bay down the final stretch.

Heavily linked with a move to Giuseppe Meazza last summer, Bijol believes his team deserved more against his potential future club.

“It’s a good moment for the team,” the Slovenian said. “We started the season well, and against Inter, we felt we were ready even against stronger opponents.

“We played well and could have taken points.

“We conceded goals in the worst moments. But we always kept our heads up. In the last minutes, we tried to score the third goal.

“However, we can all do better, especially me. That’s how football is, there are ups and downs.

“Now, I look ahead, and I want to help the team win against Lecce.”

Inter claimed a pivotal win against Udinese to bounce back from a gut-wrenching derby loss to Milan.

Inzaghi’s charges now turn to the European front and a must-win UEFA Champions League clash against Red Star Belgrade.
