Liverpool are currently sitting pretty atop both the Premier League and Champions League, but Arne Slot's competitive edge stretches beyond the pitch.

The Dutchman is cool, calm and collected on the touchline and was no different when taking on Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker in a game of Padel.

Slot gave the former England international a comprehensive schooling before later revealing that he is already eyeing reinforcements for the summer transfer window.

"I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well," said Slot.

"There's a reason for that - because we're happy with the squad. But I do know we're definitely working on strengthening in the summer.

“That would mean, in my opinion, that we will, for the upcoming years if the players keep working this hard, that we will be able to challenge for every trophy we are playing for.”

Slot's Reds side need just one point in Wednesday's encounter with PSV Eindhoven to clinch their place as winners of the Champions League's league phase.
