Slavko Vincic to referee Manchester City vs RB Leipzig in Champions League last-16 second-leg

Slavko Vinčić will lead an all-Slovenian on-field officiating team at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening, UEFA have announced.
Manchester City don’t take any advantage into Tuesday’s second-leg tie in East Manchester, after RB Leipzig fought back to secure a 1-1 draw in Germany last month.
Riyad Mahrez’s opening goal was cancelled out by a Josko Gvardiol header, as City failed to secure a first-leg advantage ahead of the return fixture at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in the past two seasons and haven’t been knocked out before the quarter-final stages since 2017.
The Blues remain unbeaten in the competition so far this season, and are currently on an eight match unbeaten streak in all competitions.
Erling Haaland has five goals in five Champions League appearances for City and netted his 34th goal of the campaign in the Sky Blues’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
Ahead of Tuesday’s crunch clash between Manchester City and RB Leipzig, UEFA have announced the Match Officials for the fixture.
Slavko Vinčić has been appointed as the referee for Tuesday’s clash and will lead an all-Slovenian team of on-field Match Officials.
The referee has taken charge of eight matches across the Champions League, FIFA World Cup and Europa League so far this season, showing 35 yellow cards and one red card.
Vincic last took charge of Manchester City in 2019, when the Blues drew 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Vinčić will be accompanied by Assistant Referees Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič.
Overviewing proceedings will be Spanish Video Assistant Referee Alejandro Hernández and Slovenian Assistant Video Assistant Referee Nejc Kajtazovic.
Rade Obrenovič has been named as the Fourth Official.
The official will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Pep Guardiola and Marco Rose.
